Peace of mind is all this provided. The latch is poorly designed in case of real fire would be difficult to latch. But the box is sturdy and seems like it wouldn’t melt and could hold a fire. It smelled like crap for the first two weeks Maybe air it out for your own health first

This is a "must have" item if you plan to store your Lipo batteries anywhere near items that are combustible. I use this also while charging my batteries without concern of burning my house down. Don't be a fool. Break down and get one. It's cheap insurance against a catastrophic outcome.

First of all, I would like to say that if these boxes do what they say they do (untested so far), they will be totally worth it regardless of the issues I've experienced. That being said, here are the few issues I've run into that at least may serve you well to know about:

1.) When I first got the box and was checking it out, I went to pull the rubber wire seal out and sliced the side of my hand right open on the metal edges of the box as they are stamped metal and SHARP as RAZORS! Be careful handling this box. The exposed edges of stamped steel are very sharp and have not been sanded or smoothed. This is bad for both hands and wires.

2.) Attempting to route my wires for charging through the box was most definitely a challenge, and unfortunately, more than 1 of my balance leads paid the ultimate price! These gromets are absolutely needed, and serve a valuable purpose, however, they are NOT easy to situate. This fact combined with the first issue can lead to slicing up your hands in a way that would make the average garbage disposal jealous!

3.) Once you do get your cables routed through the grommet, you will realize that it is quite difficult to tell which channel is which. Do I plug this charge lead in with this balance board... or... uh...
I found that putting the cables in an order that makes sense is good. Or labeling them on the inside in a way that you can easily match up the correct cables to the correct batteries. This is very important.

How do I feel about these boxes now that they are situated... I feel good. They look great, and feel high quality. I just hope that if I ever have issues with a battery flaming out like a Fantastic 4 Human Torch wannabe, that this box will end it the way Marvel's Comic Book Issue No. 588 did!
