I've had this precision screwdriver set for the last three years, and it has been pretty much flawless.I've used almost every bit in the set, except for the super-specific ones like the pentalobe and triangle bits. The spudgers are nice and sturdy, and are still holding up after several years. Only now did I have my first issue with the set, and given the price, that's a pretty amazing run. I managed to shear off the teeth on the T3 torx bit when taking apart a phone.So yes, one of the bits fell apart, but here's the thing. Their customer service, though. I got a hold of them on their website, took a few pictures of the damaged bit, and within 15 minutes of my request, they're setting up a replacement bit to be shipped to me free of charge.Easy 5 stars, and this is the reason that I keep TEKTON stuff in my toolbox not only for electronics, but for the bigger stuff as well.

It's usually hard to be sure about the quality of such small packages but it's actually quite good. I am not saying that they are the best you can find but it's quite good. It has most of the screwdriver bits that a large majority of people not in the professional field would require. Plastic parts feel sturdy and do not deplete from constant use, the case is of good quality and easy to carry around wherever and whenever you need it. No complaints so far. I got what was advertised.

I have used this to fix electronics and even a gear shifter in my BMW that required a 9mm torq to take it apart. The tool is the flat aluminum spudger which I have used on many car project to get into very tight places the normal trim tools struggle with. Only thing that would make this kit better is to add a 4mm to 1/4 adapter so you can use your favorite bit ratchet with it when you require just a little more torque. I augmented my kit with an adapter and now I feel it's ready for anything automotive or electronic. Lastly, Tekton has one of the best lifetime guarantees and they stand by their products. If you were to break one of their bits, you just fill out a form on the internet and send them a picture and a replacement will be on the way. You can't ask for more!

FINAL UPDATE: I owe it to Tekton to write this. You can see below that I initially had a bad experience. However, yesterday I had a macbook pro with an extremely swollen internal battery and I used my tekton tools to get the batter out. Long story short, they held up against a LOT of torque because the battery was putting a lot of pressure on many of the screws. One trilobe screw I rounded off because it just wouldn't turn, but the trilobe bit was fine after this: totally unaltered by the force. This time the tools where durable and rigid enough to remove the screws fine. I don't know if Tekton has improved their quality assurance since my original order or if I just got a random bad batch of bits, but the replacement kit they sent me is of much higher quality than the original set I got. I finally have the electronics repair kit of my dreams.

UPDATE: I'm adding a star, and possibly more in the future, due to the unrivaled customer service. A rep from the company has reached out to every single mediocre review for this product, including mine. In my case, they insisted on sending me a new one, even though I had already returned the original for a full refund months ago. The rep mentioned that most complaints seem to come from using these bits on apple products and speculated that apple may have its screws especially tight. Based on my feel, that did not seem to be the case though I think it may be possible that apple uses some kind of nonstandard screw sizes, which could result in a bad fit for the bits and thus damage to the bits.

So... I have currently used my new bits to fix some binoculars. I used only the 000 philips head bit. It seems to have held up. I have my fingers crossed that I don't experience the same quality issues I had before because this is a really slick, compact yet comprehensive little electronics repair kit.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: This kit looked really promising out of the box, with a comprehensive array of bits and other tools to keep any amateur technician happy. I installed a new LCD on my MacBook Pro with these and found that every bit I used twisted and deformed with the slightest torque. I'm sending it back.

These are great. Everything you need for working on laptops/phones is here. The bits aren’t magnetic but there is a magnet in the driver handle, so they become magnetic when you insert them.

This is also the design flaw.

The magnet is all that holds bits in place. It’s strong, and that works well. However, in my first set the magnet fell out. It was about a year and a half, maybe two years old at that point. That rendered the driver largely useless as the bits then fell out very easily and also weren’t magnetized when inserted. I contacted Tekton, but didn’t get a response. So I just bought another set. I could probably have dropped some epoxy in the handle and tried to get the magnet to stick, but there’s not much surface area and the set is so reasonably priced I figured I’d just order it again. At this price I consider it basically disposable. And I was happy enough with it that I bought it again rather t Han look for another set. If you don’t want to drop the money on a super expensive German set, this is probably a good bet.

The bits hold up well (don’t bend, warp, or strip) even at the smaller sizes. The case feels high quality. The extra tidbits (spudger, tweezers, suction cup, etc.) are a nice touch. The driver has a free-spinning piece at the top that makes it very easy to use.

Easy 5 stars, and this is the reason that I keep TEKTON stuff in my toolbox not only for electronics, but for the bigger stuff as well.

I've had this precision screwdriver set for the last three years, and it has been pretty much flawless.

I've used almost every bit in the set, except for the super-specific ones like the pentalobe and triangle bits. The spudgers are nice and sturdy, and are still holding up after several years. Only now did I have my first issue with the set, and given the price, that's a pretty amazing run. I managed to shear off the teeth on the T3 torx bit when taking apart a phone.
