I collect slide rules and when boxing up my display I was troublesome to match the proper rule with it's contained and it's documentation envelope. Easy enough to hand print a number on a manila envelope, place one sticker on the rule and the matching numbered sticker on its case. I've made a few mistrakes and they were easy enough to peel off and replace. Used on wood, cardboard, plastic, celluloid film, bamboo, polypropylene, aluminum, painted aluminum, magnesium, plated steel and brass. No worries.

The only issue is that because the dots are quite small, little children might have a problem with removing them. Aside from that, I had no issues.
