I was told to get this specific launch pad due to the weighted ring on the outside of the pad; it has not budged during any takeoff or landing, even remotely. The canvas material of the pad itself is well constructed and not thin at all. The pad material reminds me of an old-school tent material; it's a great material for a launch pad. The picture is from the drone on short final. :) The Mavic 2 Pro fits perfectly on this pad. It did take a YouTube video or two to learn the technique of folding it up; and it is a technique that, once learned, takes mere seconds to fold and store.

Flying a drone is new to me but all the videos I've watched made it sound as if this item is a "must have." I'm sure the sages were right as I can see how small pieces of sand, dirt, and other debris could easily fly up into the camera lens and gimbal mechanism. So after some research, the Hoodman pad seemed perfect and since I had the DJI Mavic Air, this two foot size seemed adequate. Now that I've had the pad and my drone for over a month, I can say it's perfect. It did take me a few tries to figure out how to fold it back up...but mastered that (enough) with the help of some YouTube videos. I love the weighted rim. It doesn't move an inch. Great product.

We've been using the Hoodman landing pads since our DJI Phantom 4 and now we have this smaller one for the more compact drones. It's not heavy to carry around and it doesn't blow away. Great for any beach or rugged work because sand and dirt won't get into the drone. We still have an original large pad from 2017 . Don't waste time trying cheaper models. Your drone is worth it

This is definitely worth the price, not sure why others like using blue tarp, or other cheap alternatives. This Launch Pad stays put even in 10 - 15 knot winds. It is easily collapsible, but I used reflectors for photography so folding it is very similar. The storage bag is durable and the clip is very sturdy. Yes there are other Launch Pads out there, but Hoodman is a reputable brand and makes a solid product.

This landing pad oozes quality. Personally I always preferred the round landing pads but they usually do light and unless you pin them down they fly in the breeze, but not the Hoodman. It’s not light though but if I don’t loose this one it will last forever.
