Product Description

Your gear is expensive and your time is priceless..

Don’t lose your gear in the water!

The GetterBack is the Patented, revolutionary Depth Activated Underwater Recovery System that installs in seconds with a non-destructive high-strength Velcro strap. In less than ten feet of water, a safe reaction jettisons the high visibility recovery float to the surface. Grab the float and the attached High-Strength Braided Kevlar line, and pull up your gear.

So if it sinks, now you can GetterBack!

Note: Watch out for Chinese made copies being sold for less. (19.99) Those are not made by our company and if the package does not say, Fisher Systems, Inc. at the bottom, it's not an authentic brand new safety green version GetterBack and it may not work.

Package

Now with a faster release time and quicker recovery!

·Weatherproof

·Less than 1/2 OZ.

· Installs in seconds

·10 Lb. braided line

·Recover up to 100 feet

· Quick spotting, bright float

· Activates in as little as 8 feet.

Drones

Perfect for Drones!

The GetterBack depth activated recovery system is the only underwater Drone recovery device in the world.   With the small size and light weight (only .5 oz) it is the perfect solution to recovery a lost drone in a body of water.  The deployment on a Drone can be seen below.

Sequence of GetterBack deploying on a Drone.

1

2

3

4

As the GetterBack descends below 6 feet, water enters through a specially designed check valve and activates the non-toxic reactant.

This reaction produces CO2 gas which builds pressure inside the GetterBack until it reaches 30 PSI above the surrounding water pressure.

at which point the float section is deployed. As the float section rises to the surface, it unwinds the Kevlar line.

Once the bright safety green float reaches the surface, it is easily spotted and retrieval of your lost Drone, fishing rod, or gear is as simple as just pulling in the line!

Fishing

Great for fishing rods and all types of gear!

The GetterBack attaches in seconds so it can be transferred between rods as you fish. At only .5 ounces, it doesn't affect the balance or performance of your rod. Losing a rod and reel can be expensive and frustrating, but loosing the fish that pulled it in, can be even worse! Also great for fishing with kids who frequently loose rods off a boat or dock.

Fishing

Protect your investment!

GetterBacks can be attached many types of gear and provide the protection against loss of your valuable investment.

ProsIts lightweight (13.8g) and doesn't seem to affect flight or battery life. Easy to take on and off. I would put it on the forward arm, even though when I put it on the back leg I was able to take off and land with no problem.ConsNo real way to test it, as its a one and done policy. Price is ok if it works. Not sure about the velcro on the leg. If I have to pull my drone up from the depths I would feel a bit better if there was a snap or something a little more secure. ( I will probably be modding it a bit to that effect)

I bought 2 of these as I live off the lake and fly over water. They fit great on My Mavic Pro Platinum and don't interfere with the flight at all. I feel much better that I will retrieve my Mavic if it goes in the lake!!

My DJI mavic air took a swim. I was skeptical. I am now a believer. It took a few minutes for the capsule to deploy.
I had a bunch of spectators on the boat so they saw the general vicinity of the crash.

My advice is; if you know you are going in the water, make many mental notes of where you crash. It can all look the same after a panic situation.

I had the best case scenario crash. I had visual observers that noted the crash site and I had the getterback ziptied to my UAV. It deployed in under 10 minutes. My UAV insurance requires the drone. So I was happy that I was able to recover. I will be purchasing for all my UAVs.

While I hope to never use this, after putting my Mavic Pro into the lake, I realized this is definitely a must-have. I bought a Mavic Air to replace the Pro, and got this to use with it. I spent a lot of time figuring the best place to put it, as the drone is smaller than the Pro, offering limited mounting options. With cameras front, bottom, and back those options were eliminated, and the arms are too short to accommodate the GetterBack. I finally decided to mount it to the top, with a small piece of velcro on the top of the drone, and a band of velcro strip around the drone. It is clear of the props, doesn't affect the flight characteristics, and the drone doesn't even sense it's there. (When the prop protectors are mounted, the drone reports that they are there, presumably sensing different flight characteristics).

This device is great! I bought one just to test it before using them on my Drone and fishing rods. I attached it to an old fishing rod and dropped in the lake in about 60 feet of water, and after 2 minutes, it popped up to the surface and I was able to pull the rod back up. I’m going to put these on every rod and my Drone.

Purchased two. One in Jan 2018, the second Feb 2019. Figured two were better than one. Crashed the drone in the ocean. Neither one worked. Found the drone after several hours and each capsule failed, still attached as installed on arm before flight. No confidence in this product. Received refund for both via emailing company. Picture displays one I had pulled apart to see why it didn’t work while the second still intact after retrieving from ocean via gps.

Having feed a drone to the ocean, I was looking for such a device. I now only fly with it. The problem is attaching it to the drone. There is a curved cutout where the velcro is attached that does not fit squarely with the drone arm. My concern is if for any reason the velcro even slightly loosens, the device will slide around and make contact with the propeller blade, thus causing a crash! At this price point, there should be a way to securely attach the device to the drone such that there is virtually no possibility of it causing a crash. Perhaps another piece can be provided that precisely fits the drone arm so that you can secure GETTERBACK to the drone. Veclcro is not enough. Not at $38 dollars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Even smaller than I expected!

This is for my drone as I fly over water a lot, and my insurance will only cover a drone that I can retrieve.
Inflatable floating devices won't reliably float a drone, so this one instead pops a floating cork with 100' of 10lb kevlar line to retrieve your sunken treasure.
it's very small, aerodynamic, and has a velcro strap built in.

I've given this five stars because it's a great idea and it looks well made. Let's just hope it works as well as it should!
I've bought it for when I'm flying my drone over water, by the way, not for a fishing rod.

Its very small & doesnt require a lot of space
I attach it to my drone Phantom 4 Pro+ just in case if i am flying over water.
Obviously i cant tell if its gonna function as described or not & hopefully never have to.
But its added safety to be able to retrieve your deone in case it fell in the water.
